LiteracyCorps: Afterschool Literacy & Engagement Coach
This Literacy Mid-South LiteracyCorps opportunity is a national public service opportunity—a paid volunteer opportunity through AmeriCorps. Requires 100 hours of service from September 2024 to December 2024.
Schedule:

What is the goal of this service opportunity?
Out-of-School Time (OST) LiteracyCorps members seek to increase reading proficiency among targeted groups of children as well as to encourage the participation of parents in order to provide a comprehensive structure of support for the whole family. Research has demonstrated the benefit of quality OST literacy instruction for elementary students. Aligned with our county's school districts and a network of partners, Literacy Mid-South (LMS) seeks to improve third grade reading proficiency throughout Shelby County--but especially in the underserved areas of the city of Memphis.
